2 Voice Poem

In my 2 voice poem I chose the characters Jason and the Argonauts. Jason had to get his uncle Pelias a golden fleece so that his dad Aeson will be king once more. Jason went to find the fleece, he got some help from the argonauts. He got the fleece after killing the dragon, and now his dad is king again.

Burmese Heroine

Aung San Suu Kyi is a hero for the Burmese citizens. She fought against freedom for her people. Suu Kyi was born on june 19, 1945. She was a Burmese opposition politician. Her party won an election, but than the burmese army didn't like that so they put her under house arrest from the year July 20, 1989 until 13 november, 2010. Although she knew that she would be away from her family for a long time she still wanted to have freedom for her people. It is hard to not believe that Aung San Suu Kyi is not a heroine. She has help a lot of people. We need to give a lot of respect to Aung San Suu Kyi because she fought against Junta she tried her best to help her people and she never gave up even if she was house arrested and couldn't see her family. Suu Kyi reminds me of Fatmire Feka, Feka had to go through a war between her home country Kosovo and Serbia, she never gave up that finally she left Kosovo and went to america. Even in America Feka still hasn't given up yet, she gives speeches to people and does a lot to tell people what she has been through.

We Are a Whole

This video made by Jason Van Genderen tells us how mankind is united and how its 1. Everyone is 1 whole. We should help the people in need. The part that I really like in this video was the part where somebody helped a homeless guy by talking with him and giving him company. Even a small favor can make somebody have a big smile on their face. Jason Van Genderen thought me something big in my life with just 1 video. Everyone in this world is the same and has to be treated the same way.

NO MAN IS AN ISLAND

No man is an island entire of itself; every man
is a piece of the continent, a part of the main;
if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe
is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as
well as any manner of thy friends or of thine
own were; any man's death diminishes me,
because I am involved in mankind.
And therefore never send to know for whom
the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.

The poem by John Donne called 'No Man is an Island' is a really great poem that is known for mankind. John Donne is telling us how something separating effects people who love them and known them for a long time. The first part of the poem means that 1 island is not for 1 person its for a lt of people, every man has his or her own part, if a oceans washes the continents apart, than the continents is less, which is just like friends who leave you, anyone who dies effects me.

This poem reminds me about the story of Daedalus and Icarus. Daedalus lost his son Icarus and his nephew Perdix, his nephew fell down a tower and his son fell down after trying to fly. Now he is lonely and he is weaker without them. This also reminds me of Orpheus Eurydice. Orpheus was a really good musician, he had a wife named Eurydice. Orpheus used to play for his friends and villagers, but than one day his wife died and he felt weaker until he couldn't play anymore. Everybody got upset that Eurydice died.

4 Letter Story

John Marsden, a famous author from Australia came to our school for an interview. John Marsden told us about his life and why he wanted to write. He has written few good books like 'Tomorrow, When The War Began.' John Marsden told us to write a short 4 word story about an animal, this is my story.

My cat died in my home. I hated him so I was the one who did it. I did it by using a knife, I cut its head off. He came to life and peed all over my home, he was really mad at me. Now I miss him, I miss staring at his ugly face. I never knew how much he meant to me. I regret doing that to him, now my life is boring. I don't know where his body went cause I threw him away in the trash can but it's not there anymore.

That is my story. I enjoyed John Marsden's presentation.

AMAZING! Ten Objects That Represent Me

I chose...
  • Verdasco Autograph on Tennis Fan
  • Golf Glove
  • Singapore Night Safar
  • Hotwheel Car
  • 20 Baht
  • Soccer medal
  • Safari World Thailand
  • Basketball Medal
  • F1 Ticket
  • Golf ball
  • Soccer Ball

I know what you are saying, "Why would these items represent me?" once you read this you would know

I chose my hotwheel car because I used to collect a lot of then I was younger. I collected these cars because they looked cool and stylish, but most of the cars don't look real, at the same time I want them to be real. I remember when I was younger and my mom and I would go shopping, I would always go to the section where the HotWheels were. Usually I got lost, but when I would eventually find my mom, I never said anything except for "Can I have this HotWheel car mom? Please?" I had to beg and beg until she bought it. When I look back at the pictures my mom took, I notice that I always have a HotWheel in my hand. Even now I still have these hotwheels and act like a fool in the shopping malls in front of everybody by begging my mum in a whiney voice to pleeeease buy me the HotWheel. I like cars so much that I got a VIP ticket to the F1 race in Malaysia at the Sepang circuit. The best part was when the drivers drove out of their pit lanes. and listening to their really crazy loud engine!

Verdasco is a great tennis player from Spain. Verdasco came to Malaysia for a tournament, and he made it to the finals. I wanted to watch this match so badly that I had to go with my friend. While we were watching we kept on shouting, "Yea! C’mon Verdasco," Sadly when the game finished Verdasco lost, but his opponent was good. When we were going out of the stadium I asked my friend:'where I can get his signature? He said 'We can get it back in the stadium', so I went in, but... We had to go into the VIP place which was covered by steel gates. I wanted the signature so badly that I had to climb that steel cage and down to the superstar. Sadly I did not get one autograph... but I got two!! From then on I was bragging to all my friends who play tennis that I have Verdasco signature.

The golf glove and the ball is a sign that I like to play golf. My dad showed me the game of golf when I was 8, I sucked and I hated it. My dad brought me to a junior program in KL so that I would be better in golf, but this made it worst, I hated my coach he used to scream and scream at me and my brother. From then on I never played golf. When I was 11 we went to another pro in Bangkok at a place called Wilding, after 1 session with this coach I love golf, and now I am so good. I can challenge my dad now!

When I was about 7 to 8 years old I and my family went to Singapore for my dad's master degrees. We stayed there about 1 year. While we were there we went to a zoo called Singapore Night Safari it was a lot of fun. The best part was when we rode the car at night and saw the animals. My favorite part of the zoo was this animal that can camouflage through stuff. When we were about to leave we went to the souvenir shop and got a cool Night Safari magnet that we put on our fridge.

Every summer and Christmas break I always go to Bangkok to visit my dad. In Bangkok there are so many places where you can visit. While I was in Bangkok I went to a lot of places like zoos, theme parks and lots more. We spent a lot in Bangkok buying clothes, buying tickets for something and more other reasons. So that is why I have the 20 baht. While we were in Bangkok we went to the zoo called Safari World, Thailand. While we were at the zoo we saw lots of animals like tigers, dolphins lions etc. When we wanted to leave we stopped by at the souvenir shop and I got a tiger magnet with a writing saying," Safari World Thailand", it was fun!

I go to a great school called International School of Kuala Lumpur (ISKL). In this school there are a lot of sport events like soccer, basketball, swimming and more fun sports. In soccer we have an under 11 soccer team, so I joined it. At the end of the soccer season another school organized a soccer tournament at their school, our school was in it. We were playing really well at the tournament. When we were playing a lot of my teammates scored lots of goals, so did I, but the best one was when my friend, James crossed the ball from a corner and I jumped and 'headed' it and fantastically went in the goal. I was really happy that we got a medal. I like the team Chelsea FC so that is why I have this small soccer ball that has Chelsea on it. We also had a boys U11 team and I joined it, we also had a medal for this!

These objects are really valuable to me. Some I almost risked my life to get, and some I just need, but these objects best represent me. And now you know why i chose these objects.

"A Hero Is A Man Who Is Afraid To Run Away" - English Proverb

I chose this article because, heroes never stops what they have started so they don't run away. Heroes save the world so they are not cowards. If you see a hero run away from anything that means they are not a hero he is just a normal man in the world with no special ability. This quote is really cool because he is scared to run away from anything

I think this video of Matt Harding traveling around the world to dance with people is really good. This video can make a different. This video makes people smile and he shows everyone is equal by almost going to every country. This video is really touching especially when he dances with the African kids. All the people who watches this video will have a smile on their faces. I think the right time to watch this video is when you are in a bad mood. Matt did a lot of work in this video so did the people that helped him, i think we should give him a round of applause. He traveled around the world just for this one video.

The Compliment Guy

I think the idea of "the compliment guy" is really cool, good and nice. Some people in the world is in the state of depression and compliments can make their day much more better. If u have a bad day and you need to go to angry management classes people will not look up to you, but if u are in a good mood people are going to look up to you. For example, if i am having a bad day, i got bad in my math test and i have more homework than all my other friends i would be in a really bad mood, so than somebody comes up to me and gives me a really good compliment like you are really good in sports etc i t would make my day way better. Then the next morning i would wake up feeling really good, and i have a math test i would exceed it because i am happy because someone complimented on me. So this compliment guy can change other peoples life. Everybody loves compliments so does the people who gives the compliments because they feel really good saying something nice to someone. Negative compliments can make someone change a lot. I think the idea "the compliment guy" is smart!

The Giver #4

Dear Asher,

I have left the community to see the whole world. by the time you read this or get this message i would be far away from you. Please do not tell anyone i have left the community or else they will come and search me, but i don't think they will find me, I'll be really far away. i have taken Gabriel with me, because they were going to release him which i do not want them to do, so he is with me. I have also taken my fathers bike for the journey.

If you and anyone else is wandering why i left, i don't agree with the rules and the sameness, because i am different than the others. i want the community to be equal, but i cant do that myself. If anyone realizes about all these things happening i bet they would be in conflicts. i took Gabe with me because he is going to get released which means, they would put a needle into his back and put him to sleep. I was not meant to tell you that but i have to.

I will miss u and everybody but it is for my own good. Please tell my parents that i am ok and show them my message when it is the right time. I will miss the whole community a lot. i am also very sorry i am doing this.

sincerely: Jonas
your best friend

The Giver Lit C #2

1. When Jonas learns all about colors, he claims "it isn't fair that nothing has color". Why does he say this?

Jonas learns about colors, so he thinks it is unfair that his community cant see color, but him and the giver can see color. There are few reasons why he thinks it is unfair. without color the world is not fun. People wont get to know what things really look like, if u look at something that see black and white you cant really describe it. I also think it is very unfair that the community cant see colors but Jonas and the giver can.

If u cant see any colors the world means nothing. You wont know how anything looks like. color makes you have more emotions and feelings. for example, the color red is for anger and love, the color blue is for calm and peace. Without these colors you wont have emotions.

Jonas wants the community to be equal. He wants them to enjoy the world and see it properly instead of looking at black and white. Color can change peoples lives a lot. I think there are a lot of other things Jonas thinks it is unfair for the community to not see color, but only the special people get to. These are the reasons why i think Jonas said "it isn't fair that nothing has color"

The Giver lit c #1

Today we just finished our first literature circle on the book called "The Giver" by Lois Powell. this book is a really good book, it is really interesting, but it is really complicated. Today everyone returned in their response sheet, i am really happy because we will get a Mars Bars. After we finish our discussions we had to answer 1 question that we chose from Mrs. Narsiman. I chose question #1, Would you like your future to be decided by others? Why? why Not? i do not want my life to be controlled by others because i want to take care of myself with no help. I want to do stuff that i am allowed, i want freedom in my life instead of people telling us what to do. if i am being controlled by others than my life would be really really boring. This book is really good so far for me, i think you should read it also

lit circle #2 (Zhanpole)

we finally finished our second literature circle meeting today it was fun. All of my group members finished their discussion sheet on time, our discussion went well. for homework Mrs. Narsiman told us to answer a question that she gave to us, and post it in our blogs. this question has to do something with a new important character, this character was introduced in this book at the end of chapter 4 when Henry and Will finds him. In this book his name is Zhanpole known as Beanpole. Mrs Narsimans question was " How will Beanpole help Will and Henry on their journey to the White Mountains?" Now i am going to answer that

There are some ways how Beanpole can help Will and Henry on their journey to the White Mountains. first, Beanpole is a smart boy, so if they get stuck in any problem Beanpole can help them solve it. I know that Beanpole is a smart boy because in the story he thought himself how to speak English by just using a old book he found. Second Beanpole can invent stuff, if beanpole can invent machines he can us them to help Will and Henry on their journey, like he can make a torch light so that they can see in the dark. I know Beanpole can invent stuff because in the book it said, "Lately, he had been more and more uneasy about the prospect of being Capped, rightly guessing that it would put an end to his inventing things". Beanpole can also help them on Will and Henry on their journey because Beanpole knows more about the place than them

lit discussion 1

Today we had our first lit circle on the book white Mountains by John Christopher it was fun! The main character of this book is Will To get ready for this lit circle we had to read the first two chapters and finish the discussion sheet. We got to know who is in our group today, in my group there is Nikita, Teah and Petra i am the only boy in my group. My teacher, Mrs. Narsiman told us to answer a question and that question is "How is Will just like you?" so now i am going to answer it

first of all Will is a very sneaky and stubborn boy just like how i am. I never listen to my mom, whenever i go out with my friends i always bring the camera with me. Once my mom found out that i steal the camera that she got so mad at me, but i still do it. i am just like Will because he is not allowed to touch his dads watch, but he still takes it without the dads permission. i am very sneaky like Will. When i was smaller i used to sneak out of the house to play with my friends, just like Will how he sneaks out of the house to the White mountain.
