2 Voice Poem

In my 2 voice poem I chose the characters Jason and the Argonauts. Jason had to get his uncle Pelias a golden fleece so that his dad Aeson will be king once more. Jason went to find the fleece, he got some help from the argonauts. He got the fleece after killing the dragon, and now his dad is king again.

Burmese Heroine

Aung San Suu Kyi is a hero for the Burmese citizens. She fought against freedom for her people. Suu Kyi was born on june 19, 1945. She was a Burmese opposition politician. Her party won an election, but than the burmese army didn't like that so they put her under house arrest from the year July 20, 1989 until 13 november, 2010. Although she knew that she would be away from her family for a long time she still wanted to have freedom for her people. It is hard to not believe that Aung San Suu Kyi is not a heroine. She has help a lot of people. We need to give a lot of respect to Aung San Suu Kyi because she fought against Junta she tried her best to help her people and she never gave up even if she was house arrested and couldn't see her family. Suu Kyi reminds me of Fatmire Feka, Feka had to go through a war between her home country Kosovo and Serbia, she never gave up that finally she left Kosovo and went to america. Even in America Feka still hasn't given up yet, she gives speeches to people and does a lot to tell people what she has been through.

We Are a Whole

This video made by Jason Van Genderen tells us how mankind is united and how its 1. Everyone is 1 whole. We should help the people in need. The part that I really like in this video was the part where somebody helped a homeless guy by talking with him and giving him company. Even a small favor can make somebody have a big smile on their face. Jason Van Genderen thought me something big in my life with just 1 video. Everyone in this world is the same and has to be treated the same way.

NO MAN IS AN ISLAND

No man is an island entire of itself; every man
is a piece of the continent, a part of the main;
if a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe
is the less, as well as if a promontory were, as
well as any manner of thy friends or of thine
own were; any man's death diminishes me,
because I am involved in mankind.
And therefore never send to know for whom
the bell tolls; it tolls for thee.

The poem by John Donne called 'No Man is an Island' is a really great poem that is known for mankind. John Donne is telling us how something separating effects people who love them and known them for a long time. The first part of the poem means that 1 island is not for 1 person its for a lt of people, every man has his or her own part, if a oceans washes the continents apart, than the continents is less, which is just like friends who leave you, anyone who dies effects me.

This poem reminds me about the story of Daedalus and Icarus. Daedalus lost his son Icarus and his nephew Perdix, his nephew fell down a tower and his son fell down after trying to fly. Now he is lonely and he is weaker without them. This also reminds me of Orpheus Eurydice. Orpheus was a really good musician, he had a wife named Eurydice. Orpheus used to play for his friends and villagers, but than one day his wife died and he felt weaker until he couldn't play anymore. Everybody got upset that Eurydice died.
